Concealed Carry Readiness - Pistol
PREREQUISITE: Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship and a valid Concealed Carry Permit (if required by your state).

This course combines skills from basic and intermediate pistol courses with the addition of concealed carry practices. The goal is to prepare law-abiding citizens physically, physiologically and psychologically for a potential gunfight. To protect yourself or your loved ones, you must be prepared to do so safely and effectively, and this course will provide the tools and mindset necessary. This course is well suited for self/home defense and all law-abiding U.S. citizens with a desire to be more proficient with concealed pistol carry options. Students attending this course should have attended Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship I where they have demonstrated proficiency with the use of a handgun and safe gun handling procedures with live ammunition.

- Considerations for concealed carry options
- Various concealment systems
- Confronting and recognizing a threat
- Familiarization with concealed semi-auto pistol operation with iron or red dot sights
- Smooth and effective presenting from a concealed position (will need to know if you’re carrying on/off body at registration)
- Strong hand shooting
- Active shooter countermeasures
- Use of cover/barricades (strong/support hand-only shooting)
- Shot placement and stopping power
- Post shooting procedures (USCCA)
EQUIPMENT LIST
- Pistol
- Magazines (3 ideal, more if you have them)
- Magazine pouches (concealment type dependent)
- Pistol holster (concealment holster/system dependent3)
- Sturdy belt (sturdy belt, belly band, leggings, or concealment type of choice)
- Eye and Ear protection
- 600 rounds of ammunition (9mm usually available at the range, call first)
***Any of the above items can be rented/provided with advance notice. Recommend bringing a ball cap, water bottle with cap/cover, comfortable weather-appropriate clothing (can be warm or cool on the range depending on individual comfort level), sunscreen, and bug repellent.

11 Helmet: recommend a helmet that you will be expected to use in your daily duties such as an OPSCORE or Team Wendy helmet. The Bump helmet version from these two vendors is also recommended. Fall rated climbing helmets designed for rock/mountain climbers are more than acceptable if they’re in your inventory but not required.
