Awareness/Mindset/Emergency Prep/Defense
PREREQUISITE: A desire to protect and prepare yourself and/or your loved ones from realistic life’s contingencies
This course prepares you to be ready for realistic emergencies in today’s environment. Whether it be criminal activity or natural disasters your personal safety and that of your loved ones is your responsibility. This course provides methodologies and concepts to identify threats to protect yourself from being physically targeted in your daily lives and to be prepared for emergencies and natural disasters. Whether it’s your physical security, your home or automobile, travel safety, or your technological security, you will be provided with techniques to better arm yourself for safe practices in your daily life.

COURSE TOPICS
- Introduction to emergency preparedness (natural disasters, active shooters, government collapse, infrastructure failure)
- Basic human instincts with a focus on self-preservation and social instincts
- Survival (food, water, shelter)
- Home, auto, travel, and technology defense planning
- Introduction to personal protection devices
- Introduction to situational awareness and the psychology of predators
- Introduction to mindset training and mental conditioning
- Introduction to Tactical Combat Casualty Care (M.A.R.C.H. algorithm)
EQUIPMENT LIST
- Comfortable pair of footwear (you’ll be walking around in the local area)
- Dress for the weather
- Dress for the environment
- Have a change of clothing available
- Backpack (day pack)
- EDC items of choice
- Something to carry water in (water bottle at a minimum)
- Pocket knife (optional but recommended)
- Small flashlight (optional but recommended)
***Any of the above items can be rented/provided with advance notice. Recommend bringing a ball cap, water bottle with cap/cover, comfortable weather-appropriate clothing (can be warm or cool on the range depending on individual comfort level), sunscreen, and bug repellent.

11 Helmet: recommend a helmet that you will be expected to use in your daily duties such as an OPSCORE or Team Wendy helmet. The Bump helmet version from these two vendors is also recommended. Fall rated climbing helmets designed for rock/mountain climbers are more than acceptable if they’re in your inventory but not required.
