Executive/VIP Protection Essentials

PREREQUISITE: Some prior knowledge of the personnel protection industry through formal training or experience.

This course is focused on specific tasks within a protective detail. Well suited for those in, or preparing for, a career in the Executive, Diplomatic or VIP Protection Industry or those interested in an Executive Protection career with a desire to enhance or gain knowledge in specific protection detail mission planning or operational tasks. Executive Protection Essentials is an affordable alternative to those men and women who have an interest as a Personnel Protection Specialist and are not ready to invest significant money into attending expensive courses that may be cost prohibitive.

***Any of the above items can be rented/provided with advance notice. Recommend bringing a ball cap, water bottle with cap/cover, comfortable weather-appropriate clothing (can be warm or cool on the range depending on individual comfort level), sunscreen, and bug repellent.

2 For firearms classes only: recommend wearing two types of hearing/ear protection for indoor ranges: the foam type earplug and an over the ear earmuff type with noise cancelling and hearing enhancement capabilities (i.e., Cordova brand Encore Ear Plugs Corded Disposable and the Peltor Sport Tactical 100 Electronic Hearing Protector)

3 For firearms classes only: Pistol holsters should cover/protect the trigger and cover the pistol barrel/slide if it is an inside the waist band holster (IWB).

Outside the waistband (OWB) pistol holsters should also have an adjust tension or at least a single retention feature to hold your pistol securely in your holster when firing from any static or moving shooting position (i.e., kneeling, standing, prone, moving, etc.,). 8 For Emergency Evacuation/Egress and tactics classes only: Elevated positions include MEDEVAC from rooftop fighting positions, emergency egress/bailout from second story window/balcony.

10 Helmet:; for Emergency Evacuation/Egress, CQB (LE/Mil) and tactics (LE/Mil) classes only: recommend a helmet that you will be expected to use in your daily duties such as an ballistic OPSCORE or Team Wendy helmet. The Bump helmet version from these two vendors are also recommended/optional. Fall rated climbing helmets designed for rock/mountain climbers are more than acceptable if they’re in your inventory but not required.

11 For firearms & tactics classes only: tactical/duty kit should reflect your area of the industry from Military/S.W.A.T. Tactical duty rigs to VIP protection kit/clothing (a.k.a., first- and second-line gear).

12 For firearms classes only: Holster should cover/protect the trigger and cover the pistol barrel/slide if it is an inside/outside waistband holster (IWB/OWB) and be worn from 3-9 o’clock position (clear of the front of the body when worn).
