Emergency Evacuation/Egress (Emergency Bailout Course)
PREREQUISITE: Some familiarization with climbing ropes and knots.

This course designed for training Military/LE tactical personnel, VIP/Executive Protection and Security professionals to acquire skills necessary to safely egress yourself, or another, from an elevated location9.
This course is derived from the need to medically evacuate oneself/others from elevated fighting platforms but is also well suited for emergency bailout/emergency egress situations that may be encountered in protective operations and tactical situations. This course will focus on effective, low-profile tactics using minimal kit, including field expedient techniques.

COURSE TOPICS
- Familiarization with climbing ropes and tubular nylon webbing
- Familiarization with Petzl belay devices
- Familiarization with belay carabiners
- Familiarization with basic knot-tying
- Hierarchy of Fall Protection
- Emergency Bailouts (self-and/or another)
- Use of the Operator Bailout Kit 10
- Field expedient bailout kit
- Field expedient safety/extraction/MEDEVAC harness

- Helmet (fall rated11)
- Tactical/duty kit12
- Carbine/pistol magazines (2 min)
- Magazine pouches
- Pistol holster (belt, waistband, leggings, fanny pack, etc.13)
- Sturdy belt or safety-rated tactical ”riggers” belt with cobra buckle and D-ring
- Eye protection
- Ear protection
- 50 rounds of ammo (facility dependent, call to confirm before class date)
***Any of the above items can be rented/provided with advance notice. Recommend bringing a ball cap, water bottle with cap/cover, comfortable weather-appropriate clothing (can be warm or cool on the range depending on individual comfort level), sunscreen, and bug repellent.

11 Helmet: recommend a helmet that you will be expected to use in your daily duties such as an OPSCORE or Team Wendy helmet. The Bump helmet version from these two vendors is also recommended. Fall rated climbing helmets designed for rock/mountain climbers are more than acceptable if they’re in your inventory but not required.
12 Tactical/duty kit should reflect your area of the industry from Military/S.W.A.T. Tactical duty rigs to VIP protection kit/clothing (a.k.a., first- and second-line gear).
13 Holster should cover/protect the trigger and cover the pistol barrel/slide if it is an inside/outside waistband holster (IWB/OWB) and be worn from 3-9 o’clock position (clear of the front of the body when worn).
